Thermostat Installation or Replacement

Our WetCrow.com professional will remove your old thermostat and install a new thermostat supplied by you, the customer. Our service provider will test your newly installed thermostat to make sure it functions properly and sho you how to use it.

This service covers the installation of one thermostat. You can discuss installing additional thermostats with your service provider, when they arrive.

Common Questions

Why should I hire a professional to replace my thermostat?

If you're not an electrician or HVAC specialist who has experience with thermostat replacements, thermostat installations, or configuring different types of thermostats to residential heating and cooling systems, you run the risk of mixing up a wire or two, blowing a fuse, or making some other potentially expensive mistake while attempting a thermostat replacement or thermostat installation. Some thermostats are pretty complicated, too, so programming the thing can be quite the headache. Leaving the thermostat replacement or thermostat installation up to a professional ensures the job gets done quickly, safely, and correctly the first time.

What if my new thermostat needs new wiring?

Many of the newest thermostats require a C Wire (Common Wire) to bring continuous power to the unit. Before purchasing your new thermostat, you likely want to detach your existing thermostat from the wall and look at the wires connecting to it. If you’ve got a wire connected to the terminal labeled “C”, you’re probably good to go with a digital or smart thermostat installation. The C Wire is commonly blue or black in color. If you have an older thermostat and the existing wiring does not include a C wire, the provider may have to install a new one for an additional cost.

What if I want a smart thermostat installed or replaced?

Most of our service providers have the experience and tools necessary to install the industry's latest thermostat models from Nest, Honeywell, ecobee, LockState, and other brands. Programming your smart thermostat with your mobile device may result in an additional service fee. Once your professional gets in contact with you, feel free to discuss your thermostat specs as well as any other specific needs you have for your thermostat replacement.
