Indiana is in the Great Lakes region with its northern most tip in Lake Michigan. Its capital and largest city is Indianapolis which is bursting with large museums, memorials and monuments. The canal that winds through Indianapolis is a popular place for walkers and joggers and is littered with public art.
Indiana is home to several major sports teams and events including the largest single-day sporting event in the world, the Indianapolis 500 motorsports race.
Away from the cities and past the extensive farmlands you can find an abundance of fabulous parks and recreation sites. Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore and Indiana Dunes State Park contain enormous dunes, crystal clear water and lush forests.
