Colorado is a landlocked state in central America that is split north to south by the Rocky Mountains. 52 peaks along this spectacular terrain elevate above 14,000 feet and are affectionately named "the fourteeners". The Colorado Gold rush of 1859 has left many settlements as cultural centres, gambling towns and ski towns. Aspen, Telluride and Cripple Creek are popular destinations for snow sport fanatics. Amongst the diversity of this landscape you can find stunning scenery, an array of wildlife, some of the world's highest vineyards along with significant Dinosaur finds and museums.
